Our Story!
One day my daughter asked me to make her a fun swimming suit, immediately I knew that was going to be a challenge for me because she likes pink, glitter, earrings, fancy clothes, purses and all the things a girly girl loves.
Besides, my sister, who has a degree in costume design, has always made her fancy clothes and elaborate costumes for Halloween since she was a baby. She is used to asking her aunt for something to dress up with and that is exactly what she gets.
A few days later I asked her to make me a drawing of what she wanted and to choose the color and even when I have many years of experience sewing, I was still afraid of what she was going to ask me for.
When she came and showed me I laughed so hard and I said “This is what you want? A MERMAID TAIL!” and she said “Yes!” She was so sure of what she wanted. That is how I started sketching and thinking about how to make it.
I had so many ideas just looking at my daughter’s excitement. By the time I finished making her dream come true and we went to the pool I was already getting phone calls from her friends asked me to make them one too. That is how SPLASH MERMAID TAILS Started.
My daughter was my inspiration! I designed the logo for the company with her in mind and now she wants to help design everything, after all this was HER IDEA!
